dataloggers in nesting sites - 2006-06-19

Dataloggers purchased by the LIFE project have been put into nesting sites in Lithuania. These box looking appliances will measure the temperature close to nesting sites where Pond turtle eggs are layed down. The data from the logger will be downloaded by the specialist into computer in order to monitor the survival of hatchlings.
the telemetry will be applied for locating the turtles after the egg laying period ends. Special receivers will be put on turtles' back allowing to locate them with the antenna. this method will help to monitor turtles and alocate wintering places
